Este 6 de Noviembre se realizará la primera edición de la carrera de Trail Runinng «Desafío de la Tradición» en el paraje Las Cuevas, Dpto. Rosario de Lerma a total beneficio de la Escuela N° 4.474

Paraje Las Cuevas

A 14 Km. d Santa Rosa de Tastil, hacia el oeste, se halla el paraje Las Cuevas, sobre ruta 51 km 107.
Con pintorescos paisajes, en zona de montañas en la pre-puna salteña, a una altura de 3.500 m. sobre el nivel del mar.

Las Cuevas lleva este nombre justamente por que en el lugar hay “cuevas”, que son huecos naturales en los cerros, en donde hace muchos años se refugiaba el ganado vacuno de las inclemencias del tiempo cuando era trasladado a pie por la Ruta del “viento blanco”, hacia Chile.

El origen de la población, está ligado a la construcción del Ferrocarril Belgrano; son artesanos, además de agricultores y ganaderos. Las casas son de adobe, tienen luz solar. Siembran papas, habas, alfalfa; crían ovejas, cabras y en menor escala el ganado vacuno.

La vegetación propia del lugar son pastos duros, cardos o cardones, pastizales de altura y algunos sauces.

En el nevado del Acay (5.750 m.s.n.m.), perteneciente a la Cordillera de los Andes, se origina el río  “Las Cuevas”, cuyas aguas de deshielo se utilizan para el consumo humano y de ganado, y el riego de cultivos.

La Carrera

La carrera de trail running será por los alrededores del paraje Las Cuevas, cuenta con 3 distancias competitivas y una distancia trekking para que todos se puedan sumar a la primer edición del Desafío de la Tradición.

Los costos son de $3.000 para el trekking, $4.000 para los 6km, $6.000 los 12km, y $10.000 para hacer la distancia más larga de 21km. Los desniveles son:

  • 6km con 151m de desnivel positivo y 300m acumulados.
  • 12km con 298m de desnivel positivo y 600m acumulados.
  • 21km con 532m de desnivel positivo y 1.070m acumulados.

Van a atravesar ríos de deshielo, subir cerros y serranías por encima de los 3.500 m.s.n.m., la zona es ventosa propia de esa altitud, por lo que llevar abrigo va a ser fundamental.

A beneficio de la Escuelita

La Directora de la Escuela 4.474 de Las Cuevas, Gabriela del Pilar Aguirre nos cuenta la belleza del lugar donde va a ser el evento, pero más importante es que la escuela tiene muchas necesidades que no se pueden cubrir a raíz de la situación actual del  país.

La idea surge a comienzos de año, donde junto a los padres de los niños, comienzan a trabajar por éste sueño de unir la pasión deportiva con darle beneficios a la escuelita.

La escuela tiene una matrícula de 29 alumnos desde nivel inicial hasta séptimo grado, tienen jornada completa desde las 8 de la mañana a las 17 horas. Allí reciben el desayuno, almuerzo y merienda. Los directivos son Gabriela y dos docentes más que también están trabajando en éste proyecto.

El objetivo principal es construir un patios de juegos y piso donde puedan hacer distintas actividades relacionadas a la educación física. Con proyecto a futuro de hacer un establecimiento cerrado para que se protejan de los fuertes vientos y puedan hacer diferentes actividades tanto en horario de recreos como de educación física.
